Open letter to all
Freelancers, service providers, suppliers
as well as our customers
Dear business partners,
The corona virus is causing significant distortions in the event industry and the postponement and cancellation of trade fairs and events. Many of these jobs had already been commissioned, some even in the set-up or rehearsal phase when the postponement/cancellation was announced.
The current situation raises many questions, which we are currently working hard to resolve.
Here we would like to give you a brief overview of how we process your invoices. We know that many of you urgently need your invoices to be paid quickly and without delay for work you have already done. As far as it is possible for us to factually and mathematically check your invoices without further questions, we will process them quickly as usual and, of course, settle them.
We are in constant contact with our customers in order to reach quick agreements.
We are currently continuing to negotiate with our customers in order to reach agreements as quickly as possible on how to deal with the cancelled/postponed projects and their calculation. Each project must be considered individually and we try to achieve an individual solution. We urge our customers to reach quick and fair agreements with us so that we too can do the same with our suppliers!
Some of our customers are refusing to pay invoices by saying that there is an “unclear legal situation” — that's a big problem!
We are also writing this open letter because we are sometimes met with massive incomprehension and refusal from customers to even accept costs for cancelled/postponed productions. This is justified by an “unclear legal situation.” In particular for the period before the official order that events may no longer take place, the legal situation is definitely not unclear. We can only appeal to all customers: Please don't leave us out in the rain!
Some of our customers are currently simply withholding payment of invoices for cancelled/postponed events — that's a big problem!
On our part, this open letter is also an appeal to all customers not to let us sit on dry land when paying our bills! We urgently need the cancellation invoices negotiated by mutual agreement between them and us to be paid quickly so that we can meet our obligations to our service providers, suppliers and partners. If no one pays bills anymore, sooner or later, all economic and payment transactions will dry up — no one can be interested in that!
Just as important in this context: We must be able to ensure that we can continue to pay all employees in our group of companies for the periods during which they are not taking time off due to short-time work!
We are in a very good financial position in the LK group of companies, but our liquid assets are definitely not sufficient to fully pre-finance all projects that have been cancelled/postponed on the supplier side.
THANKSGIVING
We would like to expressly thank all freelancers, service providers and partners who remain in good communication and partnership with us in these difficult times. We really appreciate your patience, commitment and kindness and will not forget this even in the hopefully better times soon!
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all those customers with whom we were able to discuss and, above all, solve this extraordinary situation quickly, easily and in partnership! This is encouraging and sends a positive signal to all colleagues: There is another way!
At the moment, it is now becoming clear who we can actually and honestly call business partners — an honorable award in these days when so many people often only think of themselves!
Last but not least: Many thanks also to all employees at Blue Wheels and the entire LK group of companies: You are the best and we can only get through this difficult time together.
Stay healthy everyone! Sincerely
